I really love how you showed that Odysseus and his men have aged because of how long they've been out at sea!! No one really shows that in their animations, i mean it took him like 20 years to get back home and he still looks young? Unrealistic lol but you did an amazing job!!!!

This might be my favorite Underworld Animatic because it nails the vocal transition from "Bye mom." To "ALLL I HEAR ARE SCREAAAMS!" perfectly capturing Odysseus bellowing his sorrow and frustration out into the River Styx

And this animatic is what made me realize that he didn't know his mother had died. He knew Polites was dead, so he was just happy to see his friend again. But he said "It can't be" when he heard his mother. And the realization at "I took too long" sends this home. He didn't *know* that his mother had died. If I"m wrong about this, I'm sorry, I haven't watched EPIC before.

Drawing the souls like floating memories rather than being there in person makes the whole thing even more emotional for me. Odysseus is forced to remember his friend and his mother, while they didn't even notice Oysseus. It's like they dream peacefully while Odyseus is reminded that he will never be able to say goodbye to them again. -In every other version it felt like he had at least one last chance to say goodbye in the underworld, which made their death less meaningful to me

What seperates your animation compared to many others I’ve watched are the fact that your animation feels more “Lively”. There’s no “freeze” in frames, frame by frame there are subtle movements, kinda reminds me of Stop-Motion! An amazing job cause You made me cry each time Politis & his Mother scene came up 🥺

I’m not going to lie, animatic or not, I actually start crying when Polities’s part is sung 😭

My head canon is that the witch shown here was arch nemesis of a hero and they sorta had a Batman and joker relationship we're they couldn't live without being enemies towards each other and will constantly duel, until one the hero didn't shown up to fight her. and after while got report from her spies that the hero retired and has a fiancee move on from their rivalry. At first she was happy that she didn't have to deal with them anymore and started to intact her evil plans and got stuff done. (idk gain immortality or took over a kingdom she just wind up living on easy street) But after awhile she got bored from her success and started reminiscing the time she fought the hero how much life had meaning trying to kill them to the point she went to a depression which quickly turned into madness and started realize the one that took her hero and stole their drive was their wife. so she sent her whole army to kill the wife causing the hero to react revenge hoping that it will rekindle there old rivalry. but don't tell her she in love with hero because she will deny it.
